My name is Stephanie Shott. I’m the founder of The MOM Initiative… a ministry focused on ministering to moms because we know that moms mold the heart of the next generation. The MOM Initiative provides training, resources and support, as well as free consultation to help churches, ministry leaders, and missionaries leverage their relationships in the community so that they can not only minister to moms who know Christ but also reach those who don’t through missional mentoring.
We help you develop a unique, tailored-made mentoring ministry to moms.
Typically, we think of mentoring in terms of something that happens within the context of the church, but when my family lived on the mission field, we learned that wherever we are, there is a mission field all around us. Not just when we cross the border of a third-world country… but right in our own city and in our own neighborhood.
Mentoring is not only a viable calling for us to mentor women inside the church but it is a powerful evangelistic tool to reach moms beyond the four walls of the church.
We help you discover how to leverage your current community connections in order to take Titus 2 to the streets and make mentoring missional. We help you think WAY outside the box and give you the training and tools to fulfill God’s call on our lives to mentor women.
We focus on moms because we know that if we want to reach the heart of the next generation, we need to mentor the moms who are raising them.
When the Lord started the spark of the vision for The MOM Initiative in my heart, I did some research and discovered that if only 3 moms in 1/2 of the evangelical churches in the United States would mentor just 3 other women, we could literally reach a million moms for Christ… and, as a result, we could also reach the 2.5 million children they’re raising.
So, that’s our goal. To reach a million moms for Christ.
The spark of that vision became a flame and we now have MOM Groups (moms mentoring moms) in 29 states and 9 countries.

While we focus on mentoring all moms, after reading through the statistics above, you can see how huge the mission field of moms is and the effects we could have on stepping into the lives of moms and the children they are raising.
I don’t know about you, but I’m not willing to stand by and watch this generation slip through the cracks of faith. That’s why The MOM Initiative exists and we are here for you.
I’d also like to share with you a bit about who I am – because it is who I am that drives me to do what I do.
I was conceived as a result of a rape and come from a decade of abuse. I became a single mom when I was just 19 years old and my life was in an uncontrollable downward spiral.
But Jesus reached down and saved me in 1987 and made me a completely different person. He gave me a new heart and a new passion to live to know Him and make Him known. He WOWed me when He saved me in 1987 and He still wows me today!
In 2011 my first book was published. It is a Bible study on the book of Ecclesiastes which consistently reminds us that life under the sun is fleeting. That we only get one shot to make a difference and live this life in a way that honors God.
So, my friend… this is our time and our chance to change the world. All we have to do is be willing to do what God’s Word already calls us to do… pour our lives into other women.
Through over 1600 online mom tips and encouragement, and through our BETTER TOGETHER Conferences, personal consultation, training, and support, The MOM Initiative are here for you… the mom, the ministry leader, the mentor, and the missionary.
