Stress is stacked higher than pancakes around our kitchen table. Algebra, latin, world history books, blended alongside crayons and nursery rhymes, all hovered by anxious faces.
The first few weeks of school are oftentimes the most daunting for the entire family.
We hope this recipe will overflow your home with the delightful aroma of fall, comfort all the anxious school tummies, and help mom…relax!
Heavenly Apple Butter

Savor the fragrant fall scent... spread on buttered toast... dallop on vanilla ice cream...drizzle on hot pancakes...

Ingredients
- 15-20 medium tart apples (enough to fill crockpot), peeled, cored and chopped
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- dash of salt
Instructions
- 1. Fill a large crockpot with apples. Add sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt.
- 2. Cook for 10-12 hours on low, leaving the lid off the last couple hours to thicken. Blend with a wisk to desired consistency, and pour into jars.
Notes
- If sweeter apples are used, you may need to adjust the sugar to taste.
- Apple butter will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator.
- For wonderful fall gifts, pour into hot mini mason sterilized jars, seal and decorate!
