The memories that linger in the shadows of my imperfect mom journey have sometimes caused me to question what I could have and should have done differently.
So much! OH…SO MUCH!
Motherhood for me was like a messy experiment and my children were the guinea pigs.
That’s why I wrote The Making of a Mom with a mission to help moms parent on purpose… to be intentional moms who grasp the significance of the moment… of each moment.
Before I was a mom, I thought I would be the kind of mom who never yelled, never counted to three, and always said the right thing. But motherhood seemed so much easier before I had children.
Is that true for you too?
As I look back in the rearview mirror of my mom journey, I have learned that while I longed to be a perfect mom, that the perfect mom does not exist.
There’s no such thing. She doesn’t exist because imperfect women can’t be perfect moms who raise perfect children.
So, if you’re trying to be the perfect mom or struggling because you’re not – here’s the best MOM advice I can give you today:
Seek God’s face as you seek to be the best mom you can be, but don’t set your expectations so high that you feel the pressure to be perfect. There’s no such thing as a perfect parent. Our Heavenly Father is the One who holds that title.
Press into Him, bask in His presence, saturate your heart and mind in His Word and allow Him to lead you as you parent on purpose.
DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH TYRING TO BE THE PERFECT PARENT? ARE YOU FRUSTRATED KNOWING YOU’RE NOT PERFECT?
