Anxiousness.

Tension.

Pressure.

The “to do” list.  

The “worry” about your child, marriage, finances, days ahead.

You try to think soundly, “I’m so blessed.” It doesn’t help. You feel your body tense. 

Whether you’re a career woman, part time employee, stay at home mom, or combination, there’s no escaping the pressure of the world. Jesus warned, “In the world you HAVE tribulation.” (John 16:33) Notice 2 things:

1. The word, “tribulation,” which Jesus used means “pressure.”
2. Jesus said we have it. In other words, His warning isn’t for a future day. It’s here. Now.

What are We to DO

Jesus said that our response to pressure should be to “take courage.”  How can we “take courage”? Psalm 136‘s repetition of 5 words has helped me. They tell of God’s lovingkindness toward Israel. They encourage me that just as God loved and took care of the Israelites, He loves us and will take care of us.

For His Love is Everlasting

Open your Bible to Psalm 136 and notice that the second half of every verse has the conclusive response, “for His love is everlasting.” What if WE concluded every thought and verse of our life with “for His love is everlasting”?

Let’s Try It

“I made it through yesterday.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“My Heavenly Father watched over my children.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“I was able to get at least a little sleep.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“I have a home, clothing, and food.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“Jesus is with me every moment.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“I can take one day, one moment at a time.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“I don’t have to know the future because God does.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.

“He will be with my family and me.” FOR HIS LOVE IS EVERLASTING.
