This year fall back can really be helpful to you, mama!
Your kids may be staying up late for Halloween. If so, just remember that DST and Halloween fall on the same night this year. But great news…your family GAINS one hour of sleep.
Tonight, the autumn clock will fall back by one hour and most of us in the western world will gain one very precious hour of sleep.
Let the kids sleep in if they stayed up late from their Halloween tromping and candy corn comas. Hey..it’s only for one day. It is NOT worth the battle in the morning.
Another opportunity is to get to church early by one hour to help someone out. If you are up, because you aren’t used to the time change yet, well then use that hour productively.
Gaining one hour of sleep is great! You can get a head start on your day–the fist day of November.
However, you may want to ease into your day. If you are like my family, it may take a few days to a week for them to acclimate to the change.
So, when you are struggling with this time change, remember that time is really just something humans have created to control their world. God reminds us that nothing, not even time, can separate us from Him.
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39 ESV).
Enjoy snoozing that extra hour!
Be Blessed,
AllisonD
