Are You Struggling to Find Contentment?

Spread the love

Hey Sweet Mommas!

Do you struggle to find contentment in your daily lives?

Does happiness seem like an elusive thing that slips in and out of your life like a warm, soft wind? It’s here today, but gone tomorrow like the carefree days of summer. Then, you are much like me and are probably like most other women too.

Well, here’s a few tips that might help you find contentment.

*If you are simply living life to find happiness, you won’t find it. Why not? Because it is fleeting. If you ask people what the purpose of life is they might say, to be happy. When in fact, true happiness and purpose can only come from our creator.

*Instead of focusing on finding happiness, try finding your purpose in Jesus Christ. When you find your purpose and realize how to serve Him, that gives your life direction and fullness.

*How do you find that purpose? By asking Him through prayer and bible reading. Listen to God’s message in your heart. Your purpose may not be what you want, but what God wants for you.

*Once you find your purpose in Jesus, then you will hopefully find peace and joy in serving Him. When you serve Him in the way He intended, there you will find fulfillment in your heart.

*Spend time with Jesus in prayer to find His peace and purpose. We all need that quiet time alone with God, sweet momma!

*When you are struggling with something difficult, go to God in thankfulness and praise Him for what you do have. And you will see how quickly your attitude changes from unhappiness to gratefulness.

*Are you looking to buy your way into happiness by the next latest and greatest car, piece of clothing or pretty item of jewelry…think again. This type of thinking only leads to an endless lust for material possessions. Here’s a news flash…THINGS of this world will never make you truly happy.

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world” (1 John 2:15-16 NIV).

*Are you that nagging or quarrelsome wife or mother? Jesus warns us about living this way–a way that will steal your contentment.

“Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful” (2 Timothy 2:23-24 NIV).
