Father God, as I place my kids in the care of their school I pray Your hand of safety and guidance surround them. Help them to develop a love for learning. Give their teachers wisdom in how best to inspire a love for knowing. May their desire to know draw them closer to You.
Father be with the other kids in their classes. May my kids be lights of encouragement to all the kids in their classes. Help them to treat others how they would want to be treated. May they point others to Your love and kindness. When they make mistakes help them admit their mistakes, ask for forgiveness, and accept the consequences of their behavior.
Lord I pray for safety for all schools. May plans for evil be foiled before they can be carried out. Father guard the lives and hearts of all those at the school. I pray against anyone who would seek to cause harm to anyone at the school.
Help my kids make good friends and help them to be good friends.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Here’s a couple of scripture to go along with the above prayer:
Learning Grace–“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18 ESV).
Learning Mercy–“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful” (Luke 6:36 ESV).
Learning Kindness–“See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone” (1 Thessalonians 5:15 ESV).
How are you praying for your children as they return to school?
