TMI asks our readers 5 Questions about Being a Mom of Young Children

Spread the love

mom of young childrenAs a mom of three kids under the age of four (we have twins and a newborn) I will be the first to admit that I don’t have all the answers when it comes to parenting little ones. I love getting advice from friends with kids just a few years older than mine or even reading stories from my fellow M.O.M’s here at The Mom Initiative. Today, I’d like to ask YOU, our readers some of the questions I hear most often from younger moms:

1. How do you get your child to eat something besides chicken nuggets or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? My kids get in a food rut and just want snacks instead of a well-balanced meal.  Any suggestions?

2. What are your best potty training tips? To get a little more in depth, what do you do if your child keeps going to the bathroom in their underwear? How do you break this habit once and for all?

3. How do you find “you time” when the naps are over? Young moms are so busy either working all day or staying at home and taking care of their little ones that they have little time to themselves.

4. When it came time for school, did you choose private or public schools? What did you do if you couldn’t afford private but your public school system wasn’t that great?

5. Disciplining is a never-ending process. How do you teach your child to listen and obey you? What did you do when time-out wasn’t enough?

There are a million other questions I could ask, but let’s stick with these five today. Please leave your answers in the comments section below our on our Facebook page!

Raising children is not an easy task. It is weary, time-consuming, and often frustrating because all we really want is to do it right. One thing that I don’t question about parenting little ones is that I can’t do it alone. I need God and a great support system.  I need encouragement from others to remind me that I’m a pretty good mom even when I think I’ve failed. Motherhood is the best and hardest job in the whole wide world. God created moms to be in community with each other and there isn’t anything wrong with admitting that we don’t have all the answers.

What questions do you have regarding motherhood?  Ask them in the comments section below and let this community of moms give their advice.

Thank you sweet mentor readers of TMI for any advice you can share with our mentee moms today!
