The Making of a Mom by Stephanie Shott (The M.O.M. Initiative's premier book)

It was in a gas station parking lot when the vision for The M.O.M. Initiative and The Making of a Mom was conceived. As I sat and watched a very pregnant teen girl walk by and light up a cigarette, I reflected on my teen pregnancy and how motherhood was like a messy experiment for me and how my kids ended up being the guinea pigs. And how I thought I was ready but didn’t have a clue.

I couldn’t help but wonder if she understood the significance of her newfound roll. Did she understand that everything she now did would affect her precious little baby? I wondered if she would have someone who would walk with her through her mom journey, or would she have to go it alone.

And I wondered if there could be a book that was written which would minister to her momma heart and yet also serve as tools in the hands of a mentor who would take her journey with her, so she wouldn’t have to make it alone.

Could there be a book that would serve the hearts of moms in real and tangible ways and yet, also serve as a tool for women in the local church, in ministries, and on the mission field that would give the the confidence and courage to impact their communities and this culture for Christ through the power of mentoring?

That’s when the Lord spoke to me and The M.O.M. Initiative and The Making of a Mom was birthed in my heart. And now, some 4 years later, it’s all coming together and YOU are part of it all!

Two years ago, we launched The M.O.M. Initiative to MINISTER to MOMS in the heart of their circumstances and to cast the vision for MISSIONAL MENTORING. And God has done some amazing things! We have M.O.M. Groups globally who are ready to change the world one mom at a time.

Now I am SO EXCITED TO SHARE THAT in JULY (right before The BETTER TOGETHER CONFERENCE ~ so you’ll be able to get your sweet little hands on it then!), The M.O.M. Initiative will have its premier resource, The Making of a Mom through Regal Publishers.

It’s a dual purpose book…

1. THE MAKING of a MOM..the book that MEETS MOMS in the MIDDLE of the MESSINESS of MOMMYHOOD and gives them 12 important and PRACTICAL INGREDIENTS for PARENTING ON PURPOSE. 

2. The Making of a Mom also gives MENTORS, SMALL GROUP LEADERS and MINISTRY LEADERS the RESOURCES, SUPPORT, CONFIDENCE and COURAGE to MENTOR MOMS…

not only IN THE CHURCH – but to make MENTORING MISSIONAL…to IMPACT their COMMUNITIES and this CULTURE for CHRIST through the POWER OF MENTORING!

I want to share with you 5 ways you can be part of the book launch in July and help us impact our communities and this culture for the Lord Jesus Christ…

1. Sign up now to begin a M.O.M. Group in your church and/or community ~  You can email me with your NAME, ADDRESS, EMAIL ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBER, and CHURCH or MINISTRY if applicable, and we will add you to the list of those will be first to receive the book!

2. Send the name of your church, ministry, women’s ministry leader or small group leader and her email address so I can get the information in her hands ~ Changing the world through the power of mentoring means getting the whole body of Christ involved and I NEED YOUR HELP! (stephanie@themominitiative.com)

5. Become part of our prayer team ~ We know that if anything is accomplished for Christ, it begins with prayer. When God called me to begin this journey, I knew the battle would be hard and long because we are entering the front lines for the souls of moms and the children they are raising. I desperately need your prayers! This ministry desperately needs your prayers. The battle rages and the enemy is strong, but greater is He who is in us than He who is in the world. And if God be FOR us who can be against us! Please consider joining the TMI Prayer Team as we seek to reach the moms of this generation and ultimately reach the heart of the next generation.
