3. Toothpaste ~ Buff CD’s, Sooth Burns, Clean Finger & Toe Nails

  • Scrub discolored fingernails and toenails with whitening tooth paste and they’ll not only be clean, they’ll feel minty fresh too.

4. Rubbing Alcohol ~ Clean Hairspray Off of Mirrors, Remove Ink Stains, Remove Permanent Marker

  • Wipe your sticky, hair-spray ladened mirrors off with some rubbing alcohol to remove the stickiness and clean your mirrors.
  • Remove ink stains and permanent markers from clothes and from other items by dabbing a little rubbing alcohol on them.

5.  Salt ~ Relieve Insect Stings and Bites, and Repel Ants

  • Once stung or bit by an insect, wet the area and add salt. Then cover it. It will reduce the swelling and the itching.
  • If ants are trying to make their way into your home, sprinkle salt across the area where they are coming in, such as the doorway, and form a barrier. That will repel them and they won’t cross the barrier of salt.

6. Eggs ~ Peel Inside Membrane of Egg (thin layer of ‘skin’ inside the shell) and Use as  Stitches for Bad Cuts, and Also Can Be Used as a Facial Cleanser and Clean Leather Furniture

  • Peel inside membrane (liquid and all) and place on cut (after stopping the bleeding the best you can) and let it dry. The protein in the egg white will help it heal quickly. Change every day and don’t get it wet and your nasty cut will heal quickly. (This is something I’ve done several times and it really works. We even had to do it for a teen at our homeschool co-op who had split his eye open at his eyebrow. When his mom took him to the doctor, they were amazed and started teaching it as emergency first aid when there is no way to get stitches.)
  • For a facial cleanser, use either the yolks or the whites. The yolks are a great moisturizer and the whites reduce puffiness and cleanses.
  • For furniture cleaning, use the whites to clean your leather furniture.

7. Olive Oil ~ Make Pet’s Fur Shiny, Remove makeup.

  • Add a tablespoon of olive oil to your pet’s food and his/her coat will shine. Works for your hair too, but you would want to use it like you would a hot oil treatment.
  • Dab a bit of olive oil on your cheeks, under your eyes and on your forehead, rub in and wash off with a warm wash cloth.

8. Aspirin ~  Remove Perspiration Stains from Clothes, Make Cut Flowers Last Longer

  • Grind two aspirin and add to 1/2 cup of water. Soak stained area in the mixture for about 2 to 3 hours and then wash.
  • Add one or two crushed tablets before adding cut flowers and they will last longer.

9. Baking Soda ~ Make Your Own Toothpaste, Use as Deodorant, Clean Pots, Pans and Kitchen Surfaces

  • Mix baking soda and 3% hydrogen peroxide to make your own non-flouride toothpaste. (My aunt used this and has the whitest teeth I’ve ever seen.)
  • Sprinkle a bit of baking soda on your arm pits and say goodbye to deodorant.
  • Dampen a washcloth and sprinkle a little baking soda to clean your pots, pans and kitchen surfaces.

10. Lemons ~ Deodorant, Deodorize Garbage Disposal, Lighten Age Spots

  • Just dab a little juice from a lemon under your arms and do away with the aluminum based deodorants.
  • Don’t throw away your lemons after you’ve squeezed them. Cut a small piece of the lemon peel and put it in your garbage disposal. Run water and turn on the disposal. Your garbage will smell fresh and clean.
  • Get rid of expensive creams. Use a couple drops of lemon to lighten age spots.
